I am a Mother of four special needs kids.
My kids range from Emotional Disturbance to Non-Verbal Autism.
I have been on every side of the IEP table, so I know just how traumatic an IEP meeting can feel for the parents.
I am also a Special Education teacher, so I know how an IEP meeting should be held on the professional side as well.
I use all of these experiences in my advocacy.
I know what is realistic to ask of the school system, just like I know when the school system isn't doing what they are very capable of doing.
I believe one of my greatest strengths is having a full vision of what it takes to help make a special needs child successful across all settings.
